Owen

Hello There,

Our little man is fast approaching 2, I have no idea where the time has gone. 

With a break in the rain here, we have been able to go out for a couple of family outings.  We went up to the Great Lakes when there was a lot of snow on the mountains, so that we could take Owen to the snow for the first time.  He was not real sure about it to start of with, but then he got used to it, but did not like when he fell over  and put his hands in the cold snow.  When Colin was out taking some photos, Owen and I stayed in the car and he enjoyed his first Oreo cookie, here he is:

This is some of the snow that was on the mountains.

Yesterday, the weather was lovely, so we headed down to City Park, we Owen had a play on the swings and the slide, fed the ducks and visited the monkeys, he had a great time running around.

Here are the ducks, enjoying a good meal of bread.

Perfectly Rustics Challenge 6

Hello There,

The challenge for Perfectly Rustics was set by me, which was to use the Brayer.  The brayer is a tool that many of us have purchased, gets stored away and it doesn't get use a lot. 

When I was at the Stampin' Up! Convention this year, a demonstrator showed us the bouncing brayer technique, her cards were just beautiful.  I gave it a go on my scrapbooking page to create an interesting effect for the piece of card that is behind the photo.  I am quite happy with the end result. 

So why not dust of those brayers, create a master piece and enter it in the Perfectly Rustics challenge?

Hello There,

Yes I am still here, just been busy with Stamp Clubs, Stamp Camp and life in general.  I have been quite slack in not getting up my posts for the Perfectly Rustics Challenges, so I decided that it was about time that I got one up again.  This weeks challenge is a layout challenge, which was designed by my good self.  Here is the sketch:

My lovely husband, Colin, has taken to photographing my cards and pages with various items from his Lego collection.  It is a little bit of fun.  I particularly like the dog in the foreground being feed a sausage.

Perfectly Rustics Challenge No.2

Perfectly Rustics Challenge 1

Hello There,

Yes I am still here, just been ultra busy.  I don't know where the time goes.  My husband, Colin and I have been busy getting our own challenge site up and running.  Colin is doing all the computer work and I am being creative!  There are currently three people on the team, myself and my good friends and fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators Sharnee and Jayne.  The site is called Perfectly Rustics.  Please pop over to visit and put in an entry.  The challenge for this week is a sketch layout which I came up with, here is the sketch:

I made this card for my Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary (43 years I think).

Birthday for Sharnee

Hello There,

It was Paper Dolls last night, which is a monthly stamp club that my lovely friend and upline, Sharnee runs. As it is her birthday on the 25th of May, I thought I would try and make it special for her and made her a cake and got together with our friend Jayne who arranged some balloons and flowers. I tried the make the cake look like a Stampin' up stamp pad with a happy birthday stamp on it. I was quite pleased with the end result.
 

 

 

 

 

Of course I had to make a card for Sharnee as well. Here is the card that I made for Sharnee.

 

The rosette on the card is the logo for the Perfectly Rustics Challenge site, this is a new website which is being run by me, Sharnee and Jayne (my darling husband is doing all the technical stuff for us).

Just Add Ink and Stampin Up Only Challenge

Hello There,

I have been playing around with my card design for my swap for the Stampin' Up Convention next month! I came up with this card (not my swap) which I though fitted nicely with the Just Add Ink challenge, Just Add a Fun Background.  I also wanted to enter  a card in the Stampin Up Only challenge for this week which is Anything Sizzix.

I used glossy white card stock and put some Island Indigo, Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder ink from a re-inker directly on the card, I then rubbed it all over using a tissue.  I then put it through the Big Shot using the cloud embossing folder and sanded it back to reveal the white card.  I cut out the butterflies and stuck them on and put it through the cloud embossing folder again (taking care to match it up).
