Welcome Baby - Just Add Ink Challenge 77

This weeks challenge for Just Add Ink was a layout challenge. I did struggle with this one challenge and this card is was my second attempt at the layout challenge. The first card that I made I was not happy with at all and then one of my friends, Sarah gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and that was the inspiration that I needed to make this card. I was very chuffed with the end result. Here is the layout challenge:

Here is my card:

I used the free gifts from this months Stampin Up special and stamped the birds on glossy white card and I think that it really works well.

Black and White

With the Just Add Ink team setting a colour challenge of black and white, I decided that they would be ideal colours for a birthday card for a friend. Having no real idea what I was going to do, I sat down with a piece of white card and a piece of black card and came with with a card rather quickly. I utilised one of the Big Shot embossing folders and the torn frame technique that my upline Sharnee demonstrated at the Stampin' Up Convention in May. I am quite happy with the end product. Some time it is good to go back to basics!

Just Add Ink Colour Challenge

With my Grandma's Birthday coming up I needed to make her a card and decided to utilise the colours from this weeks Just Add Ink Colour Challenge. The colours are:

I was able to utilise a few techniques that we saw demonstrated at the Stampin Up Convention, including tying the perfect bow and bleaching.

Alice turns 2!

Our lovely God Daughter, Alice recently turned 2 and of course there was a celebration in honour of this event. I thought I would utilise the Inkspirations Colour Challenge as an inspiration for the card for little Alice. Here are the colours:

Here is the card I made, I used a technique that was shown at the Stampin Up Convention, double cut butterfly by the lovely Kirsty (hopefully there will be more about convention later).

Kirsty also showed us a gorgeous butterfly banner, which I just had to make for Alice.

Of course there was cake to be had and then fun on her present from her mum, a trampoline. Needless to say Alice was exhausted after all that birthday fun and I am told she was that tired, she took herself off for a nap!

JAI 66 - Just add a Flower

I've finally managed to complete and post a challenge before the cut off time. I have been doing challenges each week but haven't found the time to post them to the internet. This week my lovely husband has made sure I get something posted.

Just Add Ink's Just Add A Flower challenge was a perfect opportunity for me to make a mothers day card for my grand mother.

Along with doing this challenge both my husband and I have been busy making swaps for the Stampin' Up convention next week. We are both attending and are looking forward to the whole experience. We hope to see you there. :)

My First Blog

Hello, This is my very first blog so I thought I should introduce myself. I have just turned 34, I live in Launceston Tasmania and got married last year to my darling husband, Colin.

My darling husband Colin.

I am an Independent Stampin' Up Demonstator, so from time to time I will be showing off some of my creations here. This is me on the Athabasca Glacier in Canada, on our 6 week honeymoon:

On our honeymoon we visited the USA - Grand Canyon and New York, Canada - Vancouver, Rockies, Toronto and Nigara Falls and the UK - Scotland and England. We took over 15,000 whilst on our trip. My husband is into photography in a big way and so am I as I discovered whilst we were away. I got a lovely new camera at the end of our trip as Nikon D3100 (we had to buy something duty free, didn't we!) who I have called Nigella. I also have a "point and shoot" Canon G11 called Gavin. Here is a self portrait of us in Bath, England:

We have two cats, Max and Titten and three chickens, Maggie, Gerty and Ginger.
