Perfectly Rustics - Patterned Paper Challenge

Hello There,

The challenge for Perfectly Rustics this week is to use Patterned Paper.  I did a scrap book page using photos of my son's first and only encounter with a small hot dog, which we affectionately call 'little boys'.  I used the tearing technique on this page.  I also used a stencil for the background to get all those lovely stars, which I picked up from Bev's Cross Crafts in Spreyton.

So now is the time to get out your patterned paper, create something wonderful and head over to the Perfectly Rustics site and put in an entry for this fortnights challenge.

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge

Hi There,

I have been making make way through scrapping photos of the first year of my son's life, he is now two, so I am only a little be behind!  I am always looking for inspiration for pages and decided to use the CAS-ual challenge of adding real or faux stitching to a project.  I went for the faux stitching using a chalk pen.  Here is my page:

SUO Challenge

Hi There,

I decided to partake in the SUO Challenge this week, which is to Make Something Masculine.  I had a birthday card for a male friend that I needed to make and I had recently purchased the Rev Up the Fun set, which I just had to ink up and have some fun with.  This is an awesome set! I don't know why I didn't get it sooner.

Here is my card:

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hello There,

I wanted to make a special birthday card for a precious little girl who turned one today and was having an elephant theme for her birthday, so I had a look on the internet for some inspiration and came across the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, so I thought I would give it a go.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

Here is the gorgeous Titten modelling the card, I think she tones in beautifully with the card!

Perfectly Rustics Challenge - Water Colouring

Hello There,

This fortnights challenge for Perfectly Rustics, which was set by the lovely Sharnee, is water colouring.  I decided to try something new and did brushless water colouring, which is done by embossing your image, in this case in white, then wetting the paper (water colour paper works best) so that it is quite wet, then drop ink from a re-inker directly on the image and watch it spread.  I used two colours for this card.  I then placed a piece of paper towel over the top and soaked up the excess water, then cut the image out.  Very simple and it gives a really good effect,  so why not give a try and put in an entry for the Perfectly Rustics Challenge this fortnight.

Owen Turns Two!

Hello There,
Hard to believe it, but our little man turned two on Sunday.  Not sure where the past two years went but here we are.  He is currently loving all things Choo Choo, so that means Thomas and Friends, so I made him a Choo Choo cake, which he was chuffed with.  We had a small party with close friends and family.  He loved being the centre of attention, don't know where he gets that from!  Here our some photos from the day.

Opening presents!
