Welcome Baby - Just Add Ink Challenge 77

This weeks challenge for Just Add Ink was a layout challenge. I did struggle with this one challenge and this card is was my second attempt at the layout challenge. The first card that I made I was not happy with at all and then one of my friends, Sarah gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and that was the inspiration that I needed to make this card. I was very chuffed with the end result. Here is the layout challenge:

Here is my card:

I used the free gifts from this months Stampin Up special and stamped the birds on glossy white card and I think that it really works well.

Just Add Ink Challenge 76

Hello,

Another challenge for Just Add Ink this week for which I am a guest designer for the month of July. This week it is a photo challenge, and it was quite a challenge. Here is the photo:

I decided to do a scrap book page using a photo of my Nan (in law), who passed away on June 16. Although I had only known her for a couple of, I believe that we bonded instantly and it wasn't long before I was calling her Nan and felt comfortable doing so. I have always lived a great distance from my grandparents so Nan was the closest thing that I had to a grandparent so her passing hit me quite hard. Here is my page:

I used water colouring, with an aqua pen to create the back ground and some bleach in another aqua pen to create the clouds.

I think that it was good therapy for me to complete this page and I am quite pleased with the result.

Just Add Ink Challenge 75

Hello,

July is the month that I get to be a guest designer on Just Add Ink and what an honour that is! The challenge this week is a colour challenge. Here are the colours:

I wanted to make a thank you card for my mother in law for her help and generosity in setting up the nursery for our baby who is due to arrive in September. I used the Eastern Blooms and Sincere Salutations stamp sets. I also used a technique which I picked up from the swaps from the Stampin Up convention in May, which was using the rock n roll technique with a clear mount block. I was very happy with the end result, hope you like it.

Preparing for our new addition!

Hello,

While some people may have been using the long weekend to relax Colin and myself have been busy moving furniture (well Colin has) and putting furniture together for our first baby which is due in September! We have a two bedroom house, one of which was used for our crafting/hobby room, which we have now had to give up and change into our bedroom. Poor Colin is exhausted from moving alot of things around, it is quite frustrating not being able to help him, but he would tell me off if I did. Colin's Mum, Anita, was kind enough to spoil us with all the big items for the nursery so we were busting to set it all up, plus my nesting instinct is setting in and I want to get things organised. I am quite happy now, just need to sort out where were are going to store all of our crafting goodies! But we will get there.

Black and White

With the Just Add Ink team setting a colour challenge of black and white, I decided that they would be ideal colours for a birthday card for a friend. Having no real idea what I was going to do, I sat down with a piece of white card and a piece of black card and came with with a card rather quickly. I utilised one of the Big Shot embossing folders and the torn frame technique that my upline Sharnee demonstrated at the Stampin' Up Convention in May. I am quite happy with the end product. Some time it is good to go back to basics!

Baby Shower

Hello,

I had the pleasure of attending a friend's baby shower on Saturday afternoon, so of course I had to make a card to go with the gift. I used this weeks layout challenge from Inkspirations for the inspiration for my card. Here is the layout challenge:

I knew that I wanted to use some patterned paper in the background so I decided on which paper to use first then picked some colours to go with it. I didn't want the card to be over the top baby, as that is not me or my friend. I was quite happy with what I came up with.

Embellish Challenge

I had a birthday card to make for a very special friend and the colours for this Embellish Challenge reminded me of her.

Here is my card:

Again I have utilised some of the techniques from Convention, even some by Shelli herself!
